What we believe
The following statements of faith reflect the
understanding and values that provide the
foundation for the unity and fellowship we
seek together in our church:
Inspiration of the
Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and
New Testaments to be without error, the
inspired Word of God and the final authority
for faith and life (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21).
The Trinity
We believe in one triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternally existing in three persons, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections (Deut. 6:4; Mk. 12:29; Jn. 1:1-4; Mt. 28:19-20; Acts 5:3-4; Heb. 1:1-4; Rev. 1:4-8).
The total depravity of humanity
We believe that all human beings are born separated from God because of sin, are totally depraved, and are unable to remedy their condition. They are in need of a Savior from sin (Rom. 3:10-12; 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3, 12).
Redemption by the blood of Christ
We believe that our salvation has been accomplished solely by the sacrificial death and the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:21-26; 5:5-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-20; 1 Cor. 15:3-4).
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God as the believer’s Advocate (Lk. 1:34-35; 1 Cor. 15:3-7; Acts 1:9; 1 Jn. 2:1-2).
Justification by faith
We believe salvation is the gift of God brought to humanity by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Good works are the evidence of faith in the life of a believer (Jn. 5:24; Eph. 2:8-10; Phil. 2:12-13).
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ (Jn. 16:5-15; Rom. 8:11; 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13-14).
Security in Christ
We believe that all true believers in Christ are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ (Lk. 10:20; Jn. 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; 2 Cor. 5:1, 7-8; 1 Pet. 1:5; 1 Jn. 5:13).
The Church
The Church, which is the body and the espoused Bride of Christ, is a spiritual body made up of all born-again persons (Rom. 12:4-5; 1 Cor. 12:13-27; Eph. 1:22-23).
The personality of Satan
We believe that Satan is the author of sin and that he is the openly-declared enemy of God, creation, and humanity (Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Mt. 4:2-11; 25:41; Rev. 20:10).
The second coming of Christ
We believe in the personal coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones (Jn. 14:1-4; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; 1 Th. 4:13-18; 5:9).
The eternal state
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all human beings: the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment (Mt. 25:46; Jn. 5:28-29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13).
Missions
We believe that it is the privilege and responsibility of the saved to witness by life and word to the truths of the Holy Scripture and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all humanity (Mt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:19-20).
